Hello everybody,

My sons test results regarding oxidative stress in urine came back. Serotonin levels(5-hydroxyindeolacetate) were very high and also ratio QUIN-KYNA was way out of line, it should be around 2 but it was more than 20. I know that these are markers for neurological inflammation but I don't know more, are they also a marker for mercury toxity ? Dopamine was not alright either so also still problems there. My DAN prescribed me OSR, hope I will see some more results in a few weeks, succes stories anyone regarding OSR ?
It is all kind of complicated and I am trying to figure things out, can someone give me some advice on this high ratio ?

Regards

Ann

Hello,

I realize that my question is not easy to answer so I wanted to add this, very strange indeed is that his Kynurenate is 0,08 (ref range < 0,4) en his quinolinate is 1,81 (ref range < 2), so these values are normal. But the ratio Kynurenate-quinolinate is 22,09 where ref range should be between 2-5. When you consider them each one alone, ref ranges are normal and together they are causing problems. I wanted to know something about this or can someone post me a link to a internetsite on which I can read more ? Furthermore dopamine : quite increased, phenylethylamenergic activiy : average ; noradrenergic activity : mean ; serontoninergic activity : increased. He does have cradle cap on his head (giving fish oils and biotin) for this, also very low muscle tone which seems to be an endless problem (carnitine not working, same goes for NADH, CQ10 and so on), average attention problems at school. Saw my DAN last week and she prescribed me Uteplex (french supplement) for his low muscle tone, haven't heard of this before, hope it will help him.
Hope that this additional information will help someone to give me an answer on this very high ratio. In my opinion, I think a lot of heavy metals in the brain (mercury was not detectable on porphyrines test and toxic element urine from Genova). This last test showed little excretion of lead, aluminium, arsenic but also said that a chelator has not been used (inadequate sign of sulfur in urine), so that's why he is on OSR now. So far, nothing to see.

Could someone please share his/her opinion on this ?

Thanks from a Belgian mother !

Ann
