What tests to ask for?

Postby FatherOf2 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:32 pm

Next week is our annual visit to our MAPS doctor. He typically prescribes CBC, vit D, Fe and some other basic tests, which we stopped doing due to their limited value. What tests should I ask for that would make an impact on treatment decision? I have written down:

Test for NK cells and CD57/CD3/CD8, herpes virus IGG

Anything else? We recently visited endocrinologist and she prescribed:

CBC AND DIFFERENTIAL
SEDIMENTATION RATE, AUTOMATED
VITAMIN D 25 OH
COMPREHENSIVE METABOLIC PANEL
T3 FREE, T3 TOTAL, T4 FREE, T4, THYROGLOBULIN AB, THYROID PEROX AB, TSH
CORTISOL
CELIAC PANEL

Our doctor always ask for T3, T4, Vitamin D, and Vitamin b12. Every 3-6 months but for adults. Well, I convinced him about folic acid so it is on the list now.
I would recommend folic acid and b12 for your son.

Forgot to add eosinophil and of course neutrophil!!

The celiac you doing is a good one cause your kid is still on gluten plus it's the minimum that the endocrinologists do these days
